Mentor's Role

  • Make initial contact with the mentee. Send us the initial mentor feedback form after your first meeting with the mentee.
  • Have a clear understanding of your expectations for the mentee.
  • Help create goals that facilitate the mentees professional growth. Put together an action plan to achieve them.
  • Establish a schedule for appointments. Meetings can either be face to face or on the phone. Provide the mentee with the relevant contact information. Meeting on a regular basis contributes to the success of the mentoring partnership.
  • Act as a sounding board for mentees ideas and aspirations.
  • Identify priority areas and provide appropriate guidance to clarify questions or concerns. Focus on problem areas and guide them towards solutions.
  • Share knowledge and experience along with constructive criticism.
  • Never lose track of the progress and change strategy to achieve results.
  • Provide feedback to the mentee about his/her strengths and weaknesses and suggest alternatives for improvement.
