    SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer

    Best became the CHRO upon close of the Exelon-Constellation merger in March 2012. She is responsible for developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating Exelon’s HR function and performance. She participates in the development and implementation of Exelon’s plans and programs as a strategic member of the executive team. Best led post-merger integration work, including staffing and selection of 25 percent of Exelon positions, development of the employee benefit platform, total compensation program alignment, and integration of diversity, talent management and succession processes.

    Prior to this role, Best was the vice president of human resources for Exelon Generation, which includes the nuclear fleet, power operations, and power trading. She was responsible for setting the human resources strategy and service delivery for 9,500 employees as a member of the senior leadership team. This includes employee relations, compensation, talent development and retention, recruitment, pipeline development, demographic analysis, and knowledge transfer and retention. She has worked as a lead on prior merger, integration and new business activities. She also was involved with the Nuclear Energy Institute working groups and the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition’s minority business steering committee.

     

    Previously, Best was the director of human resources for Exelon Business Services Company and led the HR function to support the finance, IT, supply and legal groups. She also was the director of leadership development for Exelon. In that position, she was responsible for executive development for the company’s top leadership positions, as well as design and delivery of programmatic leadership training across the company.  She was also accountable for the design and governance of talent management processes that are implemented in all Exelon operating business units.   

     

    Best has worked in varying human resources capacities at Exelon’s Quad Cities Station, Dresden Station, nuclear headquarters, and corporate offices. Prior to Exelon, she worked at Sara Lee Corporation and Ravenswood Hospital while pursuing her master’s degree. .

    Anthony (Tony) S. Fogel Chief People and Culture Officer, Coveris Group 

    Mr. Fogel is the Chief People and Culture Officer for Coveris Group, a $3B global packaging manufacturer with 70 facilities and 12,000 employees. In addition to leading global Human Resources across 22 countries, he is responsible for Corporate Communications and Non-Production Procurement.   

    Prior to joining Coveris, he was the Chief Human Resources Officer for two publicly-traded global companies: Ciber, a $1B technology company and, Level 3 Communications, a $4B telecommunications company. Previously, he was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Marathon Asset Management where he established an HR organization and provided consulting to Marathon's deal teams and portfolio companies. Mr. Fogel joined Marathon from Lehman Brothers, where he had been a Managing Director and the Global Head of Human Resources for Asset Management, Private Equity and Private Banking. He served his first five years at Lehman Brothers, based in London, as the Head of Human Resources for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before Lehman Brothers he was with Morgan Stanley, for several years in both New York and London, and he spent his first working decade with PepsiCo. 

    He has published or contributed to articles on gender equality in hiring, engagement surveys, and how to turn job candidates into fans. He has been recognized for innovations in diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition and training.  

    Mr. Fogel serves on the Board of Work Bright, a mobile first company that provides a solution for onboarding paperwork without the paper or the work. He is an advisor to Stella, a leader in the application of artificial intelligence to talent acquisition. 

    Mr. Fogel graduated magna cum laude from Northern Arizona University with bachelor’s degrees in both business and psychology, and he completed Harvard Business School's Strategic Human Resources Management Program.

    Ms. Lawler joined ITW in October 2014 and previously served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources for GATX Corporation. Prior to joining GATX, she held a wide range of positions in operations, human resources and law with Tribune Media (formerly Tribune Company). Ms. Lawler began her professional career as an attorney in private practice.

    Ms. Lawler graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and received a law degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.

    Ms. Hilda Harris Piell has been the Chief Human Resources Officer of CME Group Inc. since August 2007 and has been its Senior Managing Director since 2007. She is the Chief Human Resources Officer at New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. since August 2007. Ms. Piell serves as the Senior Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer at The Board of Trade of the City of Chicago, Inc. She served as Managing Director at CME Group Inc. since August 2007.

    Ms. Piell served as the Chief Organizational Development Officer of CME Group Inc., since August 8, 2007 and Senior Associate General Counsel of CME Group Inc., since February 2007. She joined CME in 2000 as an Associate Director and Assistant General Counsel and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the Legal Department. She played key roles in the negotiation and completion of several important strategic initiatives including FXMarketSpace(TM), Swapstream(R), and Liquidity Direct. Ms. Piell served as an Associate Commercial Counsel of MCI Worldcom Inc. She also worked for Jenner and Block and as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Ruben Castillo in the US District Court in Chicago. Ms. Piell earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and a JD degree, cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School.
